Angel es una serie de televisión estadounidense, spin off, es decir, una derivación, de la serie Buffy, la cazavampiros.
La atmósfera de la serie es oscura y, durante un tiempo, en EEUU tuvo más espectadores que la serie original de Buffy. Fue creada por el creador de Buffy, Joss Whedon en colaboración con David Greenwalt, y se emitió por primera vez el 5 de octubre de 1999. Al igual que Buffy está producida por la productora de Whedon, Mutant Enemy.
La serie detalla las aventuras y desventuras de un vampiro, Angel, a quien le fue restaurada su alma debido a una maldición gitana, como castigo a más de un siglo de torturas y asesinatos, para que sufriera atormentado por la culpa y el remordimiento. Durante las cuatro primeras temporadas, Angel trabaja como detective privado en Los Ángeles, California ayudando a quien lo necesita. En general, combatiendo a distintos tipos de demonios o humanos asociados con demonios, principalmente los asociados con la firma de abogados Wolfram & Hart. Además de combatir contra su propia naturaleza malvada.
